It's Just Feedback

Maturing comes with the realization that judgement is a recurring behavior that humans engage in on a daily basis and let’s be realistic, all judgement isn’t negative judgement. Can you agree? Let's talk about positive judgement.
I was reading this week (the Book of Judges in the bible, chapter 2 versus 16-23). Take a second and look up this passage so that you can follow along with me. I immediately noticed that this passage was describing how the Lord INTENTIONALLY send judges to give a specific group of people, the Israelites, specific feedback. What the group did not realize was that the feedback was for their edification. It was for their growth and establishment of positive values for enhancement towards their goal.
So, I asked a question (out loud). “What happened?”. Well, the Israelites’ focus was off. They were distracted by their own desires. They were so distracted that they forgot how the Lord had showed up for them in the past. They forgot how he protected them, loved them, and saved their ancestors from harm. Nothing stuck.
May we never lose sight of how good God has been to us. When judgement rises towards you, filter it! It may take a minute for you to realize that the feedback you just received may not have been to harm you.
