Direction for Redirection

Direction for Redirection

He’s always working. In John Chapter 5, Jesus asked a man one question:  Do you want to be healed?  He responded (doubtingly) with the truth, “yes”. Jesus, looking beyond his doubt, then gives him one simple instruction:  Take up your mat and walk. Others looked on astonished, mainly because the individual was partaking in something “strenuous” on a sabbath day. They questioned him and the Lord defended him saying “my father is always working and so will I”. I’m paraphrasing, but it’s right in the book (John 5: 1-19). He was following his father’s instructions and his example of stewardship, participating in his purpose.

I pray that in this season, God continues to guide us in the direction he is leading me. I pray that he governs our hearts when things don’t seem practical or when we feel challenged. The truth is, we don’t typically anticipate redirection or challenges. Sometimes, things just happen. We can be reassured that the Father will provide direction for redirection because he is ALWAYS at work on our behalf.  Seek him out and see for yourself.
